For knowing which pigment to use in blondes and redheads, you need to go to the beginning of the Fitzpatrick Scale, that numerical classification for human skin color. Today we’re going to focus on phototypes 1, 2 and 3.

Ombré 1

Clients who wear platinum or white hair (usually phototypes 1 and 2)


This is a neutral light brown pigment, with no blue in the formulation. Perfect for very light hair stroke or shadow technique in skin type 1 and 2.

Ombré 2

Clients with blond hair, ideal for light hair. Very used for shadow in skin type 3.

This pigment is a light brown and slightly heated. It tends to be slightly golden.

Blond

Light brown, neutral pigment, without the presence of blue in the formulation and with a high pigment load.


Blond by RBKollors is ideal for natural blonde hair. Used in shadow on skin types 1 and 2.

Pigments for micropigmentation in redheads

Something fundamental in micropigmentation on black skin, however, is to understand pigmentology, right? Mainly to know the skin types and to be able to perform incredible procedures in any one of them. Read to the end and you will learn more about it!

Main questions

One of the biggest challenges among PMU artists, therefore, is how to deal with, understand and deliver excellent results in black skins, due to the hyperpigmentation that the darkest skin type has.


The pigments for this type of skin must be chosen carefuly and with much attention, so that they do not end up with unwanted tones and lose a procedure.

Which pigments to use for micropigmentation on black skin?

Phototype 5

Clients with dark skin, hair and black eyes are characterized, therefore, as skin type 5 by the Fitzpatrick scale. They tan very easily and are not very sensitive to the sun.





For micropigmentation on black skin phototype 5, use:
6 drops of Jamblack;
3 drops of Total Black;
2 drop of Hot.

Phototype 6

Clients with dark black skin, black hair and black eyes, for example, are characterized as phototype 6. They tan deeply and never burn.





For micropigmentation on black skin phototype 5, use:

4 drops of Jamblack;

6 drops of Total Black;

1 drop of Hot;

2 drops of Red Life.

RBKollors Inorganic Line has been a great success among micropigmentation professionals, bringing a new option of 100% Brazilian pigments to the market.


The 13 colors available on the RBKollors website were created by Renata Barcelli, mother of micropigmentation in Brazil and the composition remains the same: deionized water, nonionic surfactant, USP vegetable glycerin, USP propylene glycol and non-toxic metal pigments.


In this article we will explain to you the difference between organic and inorganic pigments, their degradation, equivalents in the organic line and photos of the results of all colors, so read it all and become an expert in inorganic pigments!

Differences between RBKollors Inorganic Line and organic pigments

The main difference, therefore, is in their formulation, but this does not affect the fact that they are 100% vegan and free of metals.


For example, the difference in practice is that they are softer - with less dyeing power - than organic pigments, in addition to having the colors that tend to the suede.


Despite the fact that many artists (who master the technique) make wonderful strokes with these colors, the RBKollors Inorganic Line is indicated for shadow and other more solid techniques, in clients who have thin or devitalized skin.


A curiosity is that most of the colors of the organic line have equivalents in the Inorganic Line. So if, for example, you want to start working with inorganic pigments and you don't feel safe with the colors, be aware that some are very similar. Look:

What are the colors ofthe Skin RBKollors Line?

This line from RBKollors has 4 colors: Skin 1, Skin 2, Skin 3 and Skin 4. Although the name is self-describing, learn more about each one:

Lightening of colors and camouflages

According to Renata Barcelli, creator of the pigments, the pigments in the Skin RBKollors Line are super versatile. In addition to areolar and paramedic micropigmentation, they can be used in:

In general, to perform micropigmentation on the breasts, it is necessary to take some precautions. On a non-uniform color background, work neutralizing and performing fusion techniques for a perfect finish.


The areolas have a limit of application and, normally, they are not usually good if the result is with the defined contour. Apply techniques where the edges are not clear.

But what to do when we, micropigmentation profissionals, receive a client in our studio with a purple eyebrow? Or bluish? Or that super greenish eyebrow?

Our CEO, RBKollors eyebrow and pigment specialists, Renata Barcelli, has made a real guide that will help you A LOT to use the pigments in our organic line for neutralizing the color of your eyebrows.

So if you want to understand why eyebrows look different, just read our explanation at the end of this post. Without further ado, shall we start?

BLUISH WITH DEGREE OF SATURATION

The professional should use 5 drops of Hot and 2 drops of Universal

BLUISH WITH LOW SATURATION

For eyebrows of this coloring, the professional should therefore use 3 drops of the Hot pigment and 3 drops of the darling of the micropigmenters, the Universal.

GRAYISH

When the client's eyebrow is gray, for example, the professional should use 4 drops of Ombré 2 and 2 drops of Hot.

REDDISH WITH A HIGH DEGREE OF SATURATION

The reddish eyebrow needs 5 drops of RBKollors' Blond Light pigment.

REDDISH WITH LOW SATURATION

The low degree of red saturation can be neutralized with 3 drops of Ombré 1 and 3 drops of Blond Light.

PURPLE WITH A PREDOMINANCE OF BLUE

If the eyebrow is in this tone, therefore, use 3 drops of Ombré 2 and 2 drops of Honey pigment.

PURPLE WITH A PREDOMINANCE OF RED

​To neutralize purplish eyebrows with a predominance of red, opt for 3 drops of Honey and 2 drops of Blond Light from RBKollors.

PINK

​Pink eyebrows are harder to find, but if she gets to you, use 5 drops of Blond.

GREENISH

​Very common in procedure results when the market did not have quality pigments like RBKollors, the green eyebrows can be neutralized with 3 drops of Universal, 2 drops of Hot and 1 drop of Red Life.

ORANGE

​Finally, the professional who comes across an orange eyebrow can choose, therefore, to use 3 drops of Ombré 1 and 3 drops of Blond.

Why are eyebrows purple, reddish, greenish, etc.?


There are several factors that cause an eyebrow to turn an unwanted color after the healing of the procedure, for example.

However, the main one is the quality of the products used. If the pigment is not intelligent and does not have a great composition, the result may end up being a color that displeases the professional and, mainly, the client.

Therefore, the quality of the pigment is NOT the only culprit. The technique used and the client's biological factors also interfere in the result, for example.

That is why it is important that professionals do the anamnesis form correctly and ask if the client is a smoker, if she has oily skin, if she takes any continuous medication and ask about food. Remember: EVERYTHING can interfere with the result.



Heads up! 

Depending on saturation, only the laser can remove unwanted colors. Don't try to change them if you don't feel confident about your ability to do so.

The health history form for permanent makeup procedures is a mandatory precondition for the professional to evaluate your client's health. 


This document - yes!!! We can consider it an official document - is elaborated with questions about factors that could interfere with the permanent makeup procedures, fading, healing, and other important ones. 


It's crucial to fill it in correctly and sincerely. Only then you can identify if your client has any features whose result could be affected, like allergies, hormonal issues, smoking, and others. 

Why should you do it? 

Every client is unique, am I right? Aside from physical features, our organism differs for each person.  


Therefore, what will happen during the healing process in your client's body will not be the same for all of them. 


Each system reacts in its way, mostly while facing permanent makeup procedures. 

That said, some physical characteristics could interfere with the process.  


For instance, how could the professional know if it's necessary or not to heat our pigments (even if they are already heated)? The answer: only with the Health History Form.

The most common situations find out in the Health History Form are: 

  1. Hormonal Problems 

  1. Continuous use of medication or birth control pills 

  1. Recurrent intake of fatty and industrialized foods 

  1. Drinking little water 

  1. Oily Skin 

  1. Ongoing health treatment 

  1. Sedentary lifestyle 

  1. Cigarette use 

  1. Intake of alcoholic beverages 


It may look like it is not, but all this could affect your client's healing if you perform the procedure without discovering everything before. 

Depending on your client's responses, you may choose not to move forward with the procedure, avoiding unnecessary risks for your client's health and yourself.
